Triathlon is one of the most exciting sporting events at Summer Olympics 2012. Even though Triathlon doesn’t have a long Olympic history (made its debut at the Sydney Olympics in 2000), it’s becoming more popular among spectators.
The Olympic Triathlon competitions consist of three disciplines. They are swimming, cycling and running. The Triathlon competitions at Summer Olympics 2012 start with a 1,500m swim, followed by a 40km bike and finishing with a 10km run. Both men’s and women’s Triathlon competitions consist of a single event with no heats. Whoever passes the finish line first gets the gold medal.
Triathlon is a real sport to test athlete’s endurance capacity and the capability of turning easily from one athletic discipline to another.
